Privacy Policy
Effective 20 October 2026
Driller's Book is an app for people who lay out and drill bowling balls ("Drillers"). It's made by Peter Aldridge ("we", "us"). This policy explains what personal information the app handles, why, where it's kept, and how to have it deleted.
Two kinds of people appear in the app. Drillers use it. Bowlers are the people whose details and measurements a Driller records. Bowlers never use the app or deal with us. If you're a Bowler, your Driller decides what is recorded about you, so please contact them first.
1. What personal information do we collect?
About Drillers who create an account:
- your email address, or the details Apple or Google share when you sign in with them;
- an account ID we create;
- whether you subscribe, from Apple or Google through RevenueCat;
- crash reports, if the app fails (see section 5).
About Bowlers, entered by a Driller who has an account:
- name, phone number, league, hand and bowling style;
- hand and ball measurements, such as spans, hole sizes, pitch and release;
- the balls drilled for them and how each was laid out;
- notes the Driller writes. The app asks Drillers not to record health details.
Drillers without an account: everything stays on your phone or tablet. None of it reaches us, and we can't see it.
2. Why do we collect it?
- To sign you in, and to keep your records in step across your devices.
- To back up your records so a lost or replaced device doesn't lose them.
- To know whether your subscription is active.
- To find and fix faults in the app.
We hold Bowlers' information on the Driller's behalf. We use it only to store, sync and back it up for that Driller. We never sell it, use it for advertising, or contact Bowlers.
3. How do we collect it?
Drillers type it into the app. A Driller's records upload to us only after they sign in. Subscription status comes from Apple or Google when you subscribe. Crash reports are sent by the app when it fails.
4. Who do we disclose it to, and why?
We use these service providers to run the app. Each handles the information only to provide its service to us.
| Provider | What it handles | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Drillers' accounts, and every synced Driller and Bowler record | Sydney, Australia |
| PowerSync | Synced records, while passing them to a Driller's devices | Sydney, Australia |
| Amazon Web Services (SES) | Your email address and sign-in code, to email you the code | Sydney, Australia |
| RevenueCat | Your account ID and purchase history. No Bowler information. | United States |
| Sentry | Crash reports: app version, device model, operating system and where the fault happened | European Union (Germany) |
Apple and Google handle your sign-in, if you use them, and your payments, under their own privacy policies. We don't receive your payment details.
We don't disclose personal information to anyone else unless the law requires it.
5. Do we disclose personal information overseas?
Bowlers' information stays in Australia. Some information about Drillers leaves Australia:
- RevenueCat in the United States holds your account ID and purchase history;
- Sentry in Germany holds crash reports. They contain no names, phone numbers, notes, measurements or email addresses, and the app removes typed text before a report is sent.
6. This website
This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising.
7. Do we use personal information for marketing?
No. We email you only about your account: sign-in codes, and warnings before a lapsed account's records are deleted (section 9). The app has no advertising or usage tracking.
8. How do we store and secure it?
- Information travels encrypted between the app and our providers.
- It's stored encrypted by our providers.
- Each Driller can reach only their own records. A Driller's records never go to another Driller.
- Our own access to the providers is protected by two-factor sign-in.
9. Data deletion
- Deleting your account in the app, under Settings, removes your account and every record in it from our providers straight away, and clears your device. You can export your records first. See Delete your account for other ways to ask.
- Deleting a Bowler removes them and their Drilled Balls from your devices and from our providers.
- When a subscription ends, syncing stops but the account stays, so you can still sign in and export. We delete the account's records 12 months after the subscription ends, and email you 30 days and 7 days before. The copy on your device isn't touched.
- Our providers' backups keep deleted information for up to [period, to confirm with Supabase and PowerSync], then it's gone.
10. Access and correction
Drillers can see and correct everything they've recorded in the app, and export it as a file from Settings. Bowlers should ask their Driller, who controls their records. We can't identify a Bowler except through their Driller.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change affects how we handle information already collected, we'll tell signed-in Drillers in the app before it takes effect.
12. Contact us
Questions or complaints about privacy: [email protected]. We'll reply within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
